Bad news!

I chose the news is about the construction of an international airport in Mapuche territory,  is to say, the airport will be installed in the Aracaunía region of our country. The news revolves around two problems. The first and most obvious is that the airport will effectively ancestral occupy lands of the Mapuche indigenous.The new airport will be built in this agricultural and forested area, at a cost of more than 120 million dollars. But be who also says it will bring to tourism“Tourism in this area is growing by 30 percent a year, which offers interesting prospects,” Molina said.Although a few Mapuche communities support the new airport, which they see as a step forward for the region in terms of economic and cultural development, many others are staunchly opposed, arguing that it will undermine biodiversity and the environment, and will destroy their ancestral territory.

The other problem is that the realization of this airport and is approved, however, it is known that this approval is based on a lie.The construction project was ´approved thanks to an environmental impact study “based on lies” ´. This lie according to Reyes was conducted  by Arcadis Geotécnica, the Chilean subsidiary of a Netherlands-based international consulting and engineering company.
this was said by Ivan Reyes, who is knowledgeable in the subject and is opposition  who heads the construction of this airport. 

the problem to fight is that the mapuche people know that if the chilean goverment want to processing to them with the anti terrorist law, it can do it!. Tranamil other mapuche activist say: there is fear.

The true and what is catastrophic to the airport anyway is being carried out via hurting the life style, traditions and culture a lot of mapuche people !

Hi Miss and classmates!

Today I will give my opinion about this subject and my general learning English

English language I think is very important for people especially for those who are professionals or we are going to be professionals, and we use the English opens doors to better jobs. However, I think the English that the subject of this university who teaches English is not very focused for the field of labor of us. I think that perhaps ought to be more specialized and slightly more practical English. Even so I think there are anyway good tools that have been implemented such as the use of the blog and listening. although I must confess that the use of blog starts uncomfortable me a bit because I'm not very fond of the media and mass public, however, I think it is a good practice grammar tool apparatus.

I think one of the aspects that need improving because talks are practicing fluency achieve these it is increasingly difficult for me. I think there are several factors that influence this one is the ignorance of the pronunciation of some words and lack of vocabulary and otherwise and I think the main reason is the fact that I have internalized English because I thought qe learning a language is not just memorizing words but functional significance level, a system of signs internalized. Good and the only thing left to do is just practice.

Outside the English class I occupy this language to read the texts that I get in some subjects, but more to read and understand. I must translate generally and and it takes away me a long time.

I hope to improve my English and I appreciate the help of teachers in these four levels and also hope you have learned a little more of this language.

My future job !

Hi miss and classmates !

Today I´m a going to talk about my future job !

I'm studying anthropology which is divided into archaeological, physical anthropology , and my mention  social anthropology and my major  the rural anthropology  I have this major because  for me is very important the work with the people, with the live people because the rest of the mention usually they work with dead people.  In this sense Y would like to work with the farmer communities or indigenous communities, because the of the piece of the population that with the globalization and the capitalism imminent, be the most affected. In this sense I would live to have a kind of the job in the which i can to talk with the people, a place where they want to save their patrimonial.
When I talk about the patrimonial I don´t only to refer a things, to monuments.patrimonial like a life style of the people of the communities, save the  indigenous ceremonies, the farmer traditions, etc the all of the Chilean communities.
So when I got my internet job would be very important that this does not have relation with some private companies that detrimental to communities and also manage some public policies that harm their integrity. Because today the money is what drives society and not the integrity of people, this is very sad reality of work.

On my strengths and weaknesses, I think one of my strengths is that I can communicate with people easily, and that is very important for my work as an anthropologist because I can get closer to the truth of the situation. However, one of my weaknesses is the routine, bores me do the same things always, I enjoy the outdoors so much work in my office is not mine.

I hope to find a job like that!

Money =/

Hi miss  and classmates !

Today I´m going to talk about a theme very complicated, the money. I think that in a society like this is very difficult to talk about the money because in  Chile is characteristic the inequality of the money. In this sense for me the money is very important because I think that is incredible that a piece of the paper to say like you must to live, the money measure you social welfare. Other side is important because the money in this country be focuses in some peoples and the big part of the population haven´t its.  also for me the money is important in my life but don´t very very important, I work to pay my stuff, my expenses. I spent my money in different things principally I pay the university and all the expenses it give me. But Y must to recognize that I don´t managing my money very well because also I like to go shopping and there I spent my dinner in things that usually doesn´t very cheap. I don´t like to think if I was a millionaire, because this is a dream and i know that never I will be millionaire but I think I spent all, enjoy its. Fortunately I never had to pawn something and moreover I haven´t a lot of value things to pawn. But I think that will be the television, the bicycles, mu brother jaja it´s a joke!. I hope don´t to pawn anything! this is all about the dirty money! bye bye!

Care of the environment!

Hi classmates!

Today the topic about care of the environment has become massive much that is why finding information about practical environmentally friendly is not very difficult. However, I believe that education regarding the care of our environment begins at home.

In my house for example my mother is who taught us to recycle since childhood and she still does. Although the municipalities also have much to do because if they do not create public policies to permit recycling or other techniques is very difficult for people to do, for example in Florida on Friday goes the recycling truck and people leave separate their trash in plastic, glass or paper.The use of the bicycle for me is the second step of the simple things you can do to care for the environment, but a car ride is very comfortable with the bike besides caring for the environment you can lose those “kilitos de más”.

In college a year ago and rose gardening near the faculty of philosophy the goal is to spread the recycling of not only material but also from organic waste through composting and vermiculture, also has a community-based and taught workshops to all people who want to participate, also for children because they think they are the future of sustainable environment.

To reduce the carbon footprint of the typical use of low consumption bulbs use recyclables and biodegradation. However, while in Santiago or Chile the government and follow the example of environmental projects disgusting approving unsustainable and also damage the landscape of thousands of people affected is difficult to think of people to instill such a bad example for country . this is all

Hi classmates!

Today I´m going to talk about the vote. To me voting is important above everything because the feminism vote were a big advance to our democracy.  But I´m not registered to vote because I think that the politics and the general politic today is a joke. The electoral campaigns are really a electoral circus, the candidates everytime are more decadent, Carlita Ochoa, Pato Laguna?, who are they?. other example is Sabbat, He was functionary Pinochet dictatorship´s, What type the mayor is him?, which is him criterion?. Each of them worried for their interest and for their money. If the vote is a  right, give to peoples decent candidates, don´t  to convert the vote in a "parche" solution. 

Somebody  that have a run for a public position should knowledge like minimum what is a democracy, not for their but for all the peoples and this is a big responsibility perhaps for this I don´t thinking become a politic career. Moreover I like the anthropology and I think that each one contributed the different ways. 

Constructive criticism ? hard work! The tipic criticism, all the candidates to do popular campaigns  to go to the village more poor and help persons more needed give them money or material things, or fix the street, to plant tree, took the people, etc. 

I hope someday that the vote don´t  to voting for " mal menor"!

My best friends !

hello classmates!

I`m  going to talk about my best friend. I think that I have two best friend. Their names are Verona and Diego. Both has been with me since Bachillerato, there I met  them in 2009, then we have been friends for three years. But after Bachillerato we chose different career  unfortunately  Diego chose History, Verona Archaeology and me social anthropology.
However I consider them my friends because we have lived many things, sadness and happiness. Diego is my trip partner, with him I have known Argentina, Peru and Bolivia, and he always took care of me. My best memory with him was the funeral of his mother, although seeing him very sad, that was a very important moment because both of us were very sad and support mutually.
And Verona is my partner of partys and she is my "scarf of tears", she is  phenomenal. Besides  we are neighbor and we can see always.

Country to travel...

Hello classmates!

Today I ´m going to talk about my favorite country.  Really the only country I would like to go is México, since I was a child I want to travel there.

About Mexico I know only from articles, magazines, photos and the experiences that some friends tell me because  I have some friends with much luckier and they have traveled to this beautiful country. Few months ago, my best friends back return of Oaxaca, she went to Mexico to study for six months but also she know a  lot places.

The principal reason   is live in the Lacandona rainforest because there begin the zapatista movement. But also I would like others places for example Acapulco! because always appears in the TV, in movies or books , is a place very exotic and beautiful, but also be very expensive :(

Too I would like visit ans study the pyramids of the Maya and Aztecan culture, because its architecture is very interesting. I would like know the D.F (Mexico) because all the people talk about the chaos in this city, scared a little :s

My next objective is to travel to Mexico to study; I would like to do my thesis about Zapatista´s movement women. I would like to live a long time with them, because I think it is very interesting the social role that they develop in this indigenous revolution.

My favorite video is about the song "No Woman, No Cry" by Bob Marley. I do not remember very well when I saw this video for the first time, but I know it was with my ex-boyfriend, Cameron. He loves this music, and he showed me this video when I was sixteen years. "No Woman, No Cry", belongs to the reggae style and is one of the most popular songs of the legendary Bob Marley. This video and also this Recorded live in one of the last concerts of Bob before he died.
I like this video because it is very soft and talks about how a woman should not mourn, though, of course, back then, when I was younger, I did not know the true meaning of the song, and I like just the rhythm. Now, I'm more old, this song makes me feel very calm and optimistic about the future, and I often play when I'm studying.
"No Woman, No Cry" was included on the album "Natty Dread" in 1975, but rose to fame in the live version of "Live!" Album, released in the same year.

my city...

HI guys, so today Imust write about Santiago. First of all I have to say that I’m not a fan of this city but also have to recognize that it has some vantages. For example in Santiago you will always fun everything that you are looking for, because the commerce is development in a huge way. Another advantage of Santiago is the amount of services that the city has, and that is also a problem for the people from other parts of the country because they have to travel to Santiago in several occasions like medical consults for example. Finally Santiago has an incredible offer of entertainment, like theater, cine, parties and museum.
One thing that I hate the most of this city is the smog, I hate that in winter we could see the cordillera only after a rain, because all the time the smog don’t allow the view . Apart of that I hate that people here so distrustful they never trust in other people and always are afraid that someone will still something, or is going to cheat on you. In the field that doesn’t happen people trust each other. I think that if we trust in our neighbors and take more time to meet the people who are near us this city will be a better place.
Some advices that I could give to visitors, you must go to el Mercado central o la vega, and have good meal, like a mariscal o cazuela. You listen Chilean music, like manuel Garcia, congreso o los jaivas, and if you could go to a concert. Finally if you like to party you should go to bellavista o barrio brasil.

Learn, learn !

Hello  classmate!

Today I´m going to talks about something I´d like to learn to do.  Really there are many things I´d would like to learn but a lot of I can´t do for many reasons, for example, the money, the time and dedication. But this I prefer be realist and don’t much dream. However, I always do the things I propose.  

In this moment I don´t have many time but I really like to learn sing because I love the music but my voice don´t accompany me. I love the soul music and gospel, my favorites gospel singers James Brown moreover Aretha Franklin and I´d like sing such as she. Perhaps, don´t have her voice because is really fabulous but at least to reach one tone. But also to sing I would like to learn others languages because there are many beautiful songs in others languages like English, French and Italian. Then the second I would like to learn is Italian for the music and for the movies too. Sometimes I watch “The Goodfather” movie (really, I watch this, always. Is my favorite movie) and I love as speaks the women Italian is very expressive and sensual and I hope to visit Italy because the most important artist lived in there such as Mondigliani.

Then for the moment I would like to learn to sing and Italian language and a lot of things!!

Contribution !

Hi classmates!

Talk to you about my contribution I think is really is complicated because I and you are very young. However we can think what want do with our career in the future and how these can contribution in the society, because for me the most important is try be a contribution for the society. In this sense I study anthropology for help the indigenous communities or job with the agricultural works people because I from family peasant. My objective is work with these people but respecting and understanding their cultural environment, my contribution is to use the anthropology from people against “capital”.

My interest area of study is the rural Anthropology I have this class with the professor Jorge Razeto. He beside to be the chief of the career He works whit many producers and their proyects but I think that before to enter any career is very important know the life, the life of the others cultures over more, this is my case. I travel to the countries of the Andean region such as Bolivia, Peru and Argentina and I involvement with the activities agricultural them and also the local people. Inclusive in Chile I work such as “temporera”. Well with these experiences and a little common sense I decide study to career of anthropology but for me the contribution it goes beyond of study a career because this is only an instrument to realizing our objectives.

Today I´m going to talk about activity named "Week of agitation anti Hinzpeter´s Law", this proposed different activities don´t only in Santiago also in others citys of Chile.  Between these acttivities is convened:

On Monday 28, march from Ahumada to Alameda at 7 o´clock.

On Wednesday 30, forum in the laws´ faculty at University of Chile at 6:30 p.m.

On Thursday 31, march from Plaza Perú to central avenue, in Concepcion at 12:00 o´clock

On Thursday, march from Ahumada to Alameda 18:30 p.m

 I don´t want to miss the instance and I woul like to talk about what is this law and so understand

why this week´ agitation. This law intended to criminalize the marches and streets demonstrations and change the penal figure for those participanting or had incited public disorder with sentences of 541 days to 3 years in prision. Allows the police without a court order may be required from your photographs or any record that identifies those attending marches, so criminalazing participation in marches or demonstration in public spaces.

facebook and me ....

Hello guys !

Today I´m a going to talk about a web site I visiting frecuently. Really I don´t enjoy site in front of my computer  and spent hours and hours visiting sites internet. But actually I think that facebook is a web site very atractive but adictive also. Perhaps, I like this because I can find a lot information it don´t only about the people you know, also I can find information about social events such as marches, birthdays, partyes, concerts and i can shared that information whit my friends and go to this events together. Another advantage of facebook ist that remind you of birthays, that you ofthen forget. One problem of this web site is that you get so distracted whit games like tetrix or citieville,  and also watching pictures of yor friends, because  every time I open internet I open facebook and generally i had other stuffs to do. Other reason because i used facebook is that i can stay in contact whit people of other cities and friends that i didnt see often like my schoolmates and friends from bachillerato.  See you next class bye bye.

My favorite band!

Hello classmates!

Today I`m a going to talk about my favorite band. Choose my favorite band is very complicate because I listen a lot type music from punk to andean music, however I listen to punk actually, in this sense I really like "Todos tus muertos". This band is a rock group of Argentine but for me this band isn´t only a rock group because them music is very original because they blend different types of music like reggae, rock and punk this mix of the sounds I really like me!

This band was constituted in 1985 and it was composed for Fidel Nadal he was to vocalist and the rest Felix, Horacio and Cristian. They published around eight albums but form me the best is “Dale aborigen” while was created with the participation of Manu Chao, in this album appear one of my favorite song “gente que no”. I really like this song because it talk about hypocrite people like the politics or the police, in general all its music have socials critical.

Unfortunately this band was separated in 1998 and I never can to see them :(

My Picture !

Today I´m going to talk about this picture!


In this picture are my best friends: Guido, Andrés y Hernán and me. Here we were in one town named Puno in Perú because we were invited to dancing with our group named Quillahuiara to "Carnival of Puno" . This picture was taked three years ago, in february 2009 for my ex-boyfriend, Camilo.
The clothes that they are wearing  from dance of this carnival, named Tinku. The tinku is one of the typical dances of the andean zone. It´s  a symbolic fight to the fertilize the land.

This day I didn´t can because I was ill, I had flu :( but the other days I can danced.
I rememeber that these day was very hot and my friends was very angry because the others days had rain a lot and just on that day  the sun was shining and this picture we appear hot but very very happy!
I hope to entertained you with my post about this picture in the Carnival of Puno because I enjoy very much.

Technology and me

Hi class mates!

This post is going to talk about my favorite technological object. Although technology is not a good friend of me. At my home there are not too many technological objects, just the common ones. Besides that, I decided to buy a lap top when I started at University. Which one it coasted me to save a lot of money. That’s why I think that it’ll be so shame if something happened to it. I think it’s one of the most useful technological tools, especially if you are a student. I think is easy to carry, It allows us to talk with friends and relatives. Even they are far away. I use it to do my essays being comfortable on my bed, download movies, and listen to music. In general it’s very entertaining.
In the other hand, it has some problems. Without internet you cannot do too much, also every day is getting more expensive, and to carry it could be a little rescue. You feel unsecure to be stolen, and it could be damaged. Well I’m sure you already know that, because the most of you should have a laptop.

A little remembrance!

Hi classmates!

I know a lot of places in Chile and the others countries beacause I love to travel for Latin America but in this post I will talk about one of the most spectacular place that I visited, this is the Salt Mines of Maras in Perú. Maras is a district of the province of Urubamba, is located west of the city of Cuzco and this place is within the circuit called the "Sacred Valley". I visited Maras three years ago, specifically in February of 2009 with excellent travel group: my best friends although during the trip the group was growing.This place was very interesting because their existence is very ancient, goes back to the period of the Inca Empire, and surprise the extent of the mines and also that you can walk through them but personally for me the most interesting of the place were the people who lived there with those who shared. 
They received me very kindly in his house and explain how they worked with the salt from these mines, as lived and some of its traditional local festivals. Fortunately when I was there I got to one, the “Carnival of Inti (sun)”, which lasted about a week and which assists people of all the nearby villages. In this event I experienced things foreign to my but very interesting as the sacrifice of animals, especially “llamas”, "challar" their house so they miss nothing during the year, among others.
Visiting this place was one of the most fascinating experiences and although I met other ancient sites such as Machu Picchu, my satisfaction is for sharing with people of Maras and I hope  to return there some day.

Hi ! My name is Caatalina Venegas and I was born in Santiago, Chile.
I´ m  have 22 years old and I´ m study Anthropology in the social sciences faculty´s
